Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is a protected mangrove wetland on Chorao Island in the Mandovi estuary. Named after renowned Indian ornithologist Salim Ali, the sanctuary provides habitat for resident and migratory birds and forms an important part of Goa's coastal ecosystem. The sanctuary is especially attractive to birdwatchers, photographers and nature enthusiasts.
