The Sal River is one of the important waterways of South Goa and flows through the Salcete region before reaching the Arabian Sea near Mobor and Betul. Its estuary supports mangroves, fishing communities, birds and other coastal ecosystems. The river landscape is particularly scenic during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
