Tarpa dance is an important cultural tradition of the tribal communities of Jawhar and the surrounding Palghar hills. The dance is performed to the sound of the Tarpa, a traditional wind instrument, with participants moving in coordinated circular patterns. It is closely associated with festivals, community gatherings and agricultural traditions and forms an important part of Jawhar's living cultural heritage.
